Projects

We work with architects, building owners, contractors and engineers in diverse industries to provide the HVAC equipment and expertise they need to solve complex problems.

Here are just of few of the many projects we have worked on and markets that we serve:

Franciscan Health Crown Point

Crown Point, Indiana
2023

Equipment:

  • 3000 Ton Chiller plant with (3) Daikin Magnitude Magnetic Bearing Chillers
  • Small outdoor chiller plant for the OR suite with (2) Daikin AWV Pathfinder chillers
  • 16 indoor AHUs supplying nearly 500,000 CFM of conditioned air with Daikin Vision units
  • Dozens of Daikin Thinline fan coils and cabinet unit heaters as well as Preciseline blower coils

The project kicked off just as the pandemic was beginning in September 2020. As a result, price escalations and extended lead times were a very real threat to the project. Nonetheless, Circle R and Thermoystems worked together to create a bill of materials that saved the project $1M in costs and was able to deliver all equipment ahead of schedule. In addition, the water-cooled chillers provided were quieter, more efficient, and have significantly lower maintenance costs than the basis-of-design oil-based centrifugal chillers. The project was officially handed over to the owner in December 2023.

“Thermosystems has been a great partner on this project. As they were not Basis of Design, a lot of footwork was required to obtain approval of their products both from the owner and design engineer. Ultimately, they were able to offer a BOM that saved the project approximately $1M. In addition, on such a large project, there were bound to be issues that came up. Each time, Thermosystems has stepped up to the plate to solve these problems as quickly as possible with little to no cost impact on the project.” – Eric Heckman, President, Circle R Mechanical

Project Surgicare 2023

Northwest Health Lakeshore Surgicare

Chesterton, Northwest Indiana
2023

Equipment:

Daikin RPS RTU

The project required that the RTU be replaced over a weekend, so there was no room for error. Prior to ordering the RTU, Arctic and Thermosystems visited the jobsite to confirm measurements, and then worked with the factory to ensure that there were no issues with setting up the new RTU. The RTU was replaced and started up without issue. The staff returned to work on Monday with cool, clean air being provided by a Daikin RPS RTU!

“Thermosystems was a critical partner in the replacement of this 90 Ton RTU over a single weekend. They joined us on the jobsite to verify measurements and ensure that the replacement unit was an exact fit. After the unit was set, they also made themselves available on a Sunday to troubleshoot system issues unrelated to the RTU which allowed the project to be completed. I can’t recommend them highly enough!”

Project Komarek 2023

Komarek renovation

North Riverside, IL
2023

Equipment:

Daikin Equipment:

  • 17 Unit Ventilators
  • 19 Fan Coil Units
  • 7 Air-Handling Units
  • 5 Rooftop Units
  • 2 DOAS Units
  • 1 VRV CU / 10 Evaporators

The majority of the project took place during the supply chain challenges of COVID-19. Submittals needed to be approved quickly and equipment released to meet an aggressive build schedule. Even though the project experienced delays which were consistent with the industry, the project team was able to meet occupancy deadlines in time for kids and staff to return back to the buildingTaking place over 3 separate phases, the first two phases were completed by summer 2022, and the final addition completed in summer of 2023.

“Thermosystems has been great to partner with. Equipment lead times were accurate and updated regularly.  Even with the supply change issues during covid, we were notified right away if any dates changed. Thermosystems was very responsive and were able to react quickly if any issues arose. Their service tech who performed startup and training knew the equipment well and was able to answer all the owner’s questions. All equipment is working great, and we have not run into any issues since install.”
